Traditionally American Indians used this as peace pipe "tobacco" in place of regular tobacco because it's much milder, less irritating, and somewhat euphoric. It's also been smoked medicinally for centuries to relax spasmodic coughing in chest infections. And has use in the treatments of bronchitis, asthma, throat inflammation, and urinary tract infections.
